Something Orange: Reveal

i posted this pic above on instagram a week ago and forgot to do the reveal. it's something i've wanted for a long time and finally took the plunge. Thank god for birthday money! hehe

Hermes Heure H (mm)
it might look very boring for some people, but i like its simplicity and timeless appeal.
what i also really like about the Heure H is it allows you to change bracelet when you want to. you can purchase it in a different leather/color (and change it yourself with the little tool provided) which gives the watch a new personality completely.

I had the honor of being invited to the Isabel Marant x H&M pre-sale Tuesday night. It was a press event with a tight guest list, so I expected people to be civilized. I think I had too many expectations. IT WAS CHAOS.

The event was to start at 7pm; there was a line-up around the corner when I got there at 6:45. The line wasn't as bad as the Jimmy Choo x H&M event a few years ago though, but it’s invites only this time, so we can't really compare. The hosts opened the door at 7 sharp and we quickly got in. my guest, lovely CS, got there after I had entered the store and she called me saying she was right at the entrance. I plunged back in the sea of incoming famished fashionistas and grabbed her by the arm to get her inside. Once we got the right section, I saw clothes flying left and right and high above me. My head was spinning and that's when I realized I needed to grab some thing and fast. Everything happened in a heartbeat. I caught 2 black biker skinnies (sizes 4 and 8 because I never actually bought pants at H&M so I don’t know what size I am) just because they were the last 2 hanging on the rack. There’s definitely an advantage to be short(er than most people), because it's kind of an automatic ninja mode. After the pants, I wanted to get some things from the men's section, but forget it, everything was basically gone already. Our shopping time was not limited and we had no bracelets to restrain us, so after the men's, I roamed around a bit and found 3 different sweatshirts. With all those items in hand, I met up with CS and it was time to head to the fitting rooms. SAs were running back and forth with unwanted items to put back on the floor as fast as possible. We tried to spot things in their arms and kept asking them what sizes the items were. They were surprisingly nice even in the madness. Props to them for keeping their cool. I was so happy so see the biker skinnies in the size 4  fit me like a glove. They had no stretch but were comfy and most importantly, they were made to be cropped, so that means the inseam grazes my ankles and I don’t need to hem them. Those reasons were enough for me to shed 129$. I chose 1 of the sweatshirts for hubby and out I went. As I got out of the changing rooms, SAs were ready to get the stuff off my hands to put them back. One of them quickly asked me which items I intended to keep so I said the biker pants and the grey sweatshirt. She grabbed the items and ran back in the crowd. CS and I decided to go 1 last round before going to the cash. While we waited, CS spotted the tuxedo jacket in her size abandoned on a pile of socks. Tried it on, loved it and she kept it. That was a very lucky find. She looked so good in it! I paid for my items; they gave me an Isabel Marant x H&M muffler as a bonus and put everything in a cute tie dye tote made just for the event.

Fast forward the junk food dinner we had and some browsing at Indigo, I get home and first thing I wanted to do was to take a look at the pants I bought earlier (yes I liked them that much). To my horror, the SA at the cabins took my size and left me with the wrong one to buy!!! At that moment, I just wanted to break down and cry. The worst part is I think I saw my pants while we did our last round. And I just left it there because I thought I already had one in hand. Why do I have to live with such a tragic ending to an otherwise, exciting evening?

I would like to thank H&M Canada for the privilege, it was crazy but awesome nonetheless. Although we did not have enough time to enjoy any of the canap├ęs served, we still had a very good time.

Did you line up this morning for the launch? let me know which items you bought.

How far and deep in a cave was I in the last year to only find out about this collaboration last week? I thank God I did. Really…because this collection screams me like no other. Casual and laid-back, the kind of characteristics I look for in an outfit nowadays and I won’t even blame Carson for it. Isabel Marant pour H&M includes a collections for Women, Men and even Kids. I’m crossing my fingers the kids clothing start at size 2T, because there are a few items I’ve been eyeing for the little one. Pricing wise, the items start at 24.95$CAD and goes up to 399$CAD (beaded jacket).

for the Montrealers reading this, apparently, the collections will be available at both the St-Catherine(corner Peel) and the Rockland stores.

faves from the Women's line

faves from the Kids line.
i REALLY want this collection to start at size 2T.

all images belong to H&M
please head to Fashionologie for complete pricing

in love with the Corneille Slings but refuse to pay the price? i found the perfect alternative at Zara. i was browsing through the store at Rockland the other week and stumbled on a pair of shoes that looked familiar. get yours here. i didn't try them on, so i couldn't tell you how comfortable they are though.

Paysanne Gelato

whenever i passed by Paysanne Gelato in the eaton centre, it's always super crowded and i told myself i have to have a taste someday. i did and since then, it's always a must for me whenever i see one. OMFG this is amazeballs!!! my FAVORITE OF ALL TIME flavor is Strawberry Yogurt. it tastes like childhood in a cup. i dont even know why. super yummy and i like to believe this is better for my health (and weight) than ice cream. :)

we were shopping on saturday and of course i had to have my little Paysanne Gelato cup. it was different this time because a reader of mine was behind the counter! :D Hallo!! here's your post and it was nice seeing you!!

check out their locations on their website and

there's probably only one person on this planet who would post about xmas pressies this late. since i have a baby to take care of, i can put the blame on motherhood, right? ;)

anyways, xmas this year was spectacular. i received 2 pairs of Loubies. the first pair is Corneille Sling. i had tried these on when i was super pregnant and couldnt buy them since i didnt know if my shoe size was going to stay the same after delivery. these are a present from my little sister. they have a pointy toe but the toebox more forgiving than Pigalle. they feel very comfortable on.

the second pair is the Lady Holt Trash from the 175th anniversary of Holt Renfrew. these are my highest heels up to date but once again, they are not uncomfortable even if they're 150mm high. this was the second part of my bday present and part xmas present. i feel extremely blessed.

in case you were wondering, these espadrille from the cruise collection were the 1st part of my bday gift. i can't wait to wear them out!!

besides the shoes above, i bought myself a pair of ballet flats. i've always wanted a pair. they're simple yet very chic looking. they're actually navy and black, so they can easily be paired with most of my clothes.

last but not least, i scored these on sale at Zara. red leather and gold studs, what's there not to love? they feel very Valentino Rocktud but for probably 1/10 of the price. very comfortable height for running around with the little one.

since we're on the shoe subject, i have something i need to admit. a while ago, i tweeted about how i hated the sneaker wedge shoe trend. they just looked fugly to me. i learned my lesson, NEVER say 'never'!!! i was at topshop at the Bay last weekend, while i was browsing sales racks, hubby sat in front of the shoe wall and pointed at a pair. he told me they were nice/cute and asked me to try them on. i was skeptical but he pushed me to try them on. i did. and. i liked. the. look. omg i wanted to shoot myself. usually, when i wear sneakers, my legs just look short and stubby. these shoes have a wedge hidden inside, so my legs look the same as when i'm wearing heels. now the big question, when is this trend going to die? should i get the pair from topshop or invest in the real deal from Isabel Marant?

I've had instagram for so long but it was on private. Got nothing to hide so i recently set it to public. It's much easier to post pictures than to write a blog post. I will get back on blogger soon...just not now, so lazyyy. In the meantime, you can follow me on instagram [ @mqueenie ] for daily doses of randomness! ^^

Ending the post with recent pictures of the little one! ^3^
